Paid in the chat. Confirmed only after.
A payment link goes out inside the WhatsApp conversation. The slot is held until the money lands, then confirmed. Refunds follow your policy automatically. Cash at the counter still gets the same receipt.
From “book it” to “paid”
- 01
The AI quotes the price
From your service list, and the deposit from your rules.
- 02
It holds the slot and sends a payment link
The customer sees “on hold pending payment,” never “confirmed.”
- 03
Payment lands → booking confirmed
Receipt sent, calendar updated. Nothing for staff to match up.
- 04
No payment inside your grace period
The hold releases itself (or alerts staff, your choice).
- 05
Cancellation
Your refund tier is applied and the refund is processed through the same account.
What the payment layer actually does
You set the amount to confirm
A fixed sum, a percentage of the price, or nothing at all, with nothing set, the booking confirms with no payment step. Set it business-wide, per branch, or per service, with an optional discount for returning customers. A full-prepayment mode charges the whole price instead.
Tiered refunds, applied automatically
E.g. 100% at 48h+, 50% inside 48h, none inside 24h; or a simple cutoff. Stated to the customer before they pay, processed through the original account.
Cash, card terminal, bank transfer
Mark the deposit paid from the dashboard; the customer gets the identical “payment received” message and the booking confirms exactly the same way.
Invoices
Generated automatically from approved quotes and membership renewals, or composed by hand. VAT shown per invoice. Pay link if unpaid; mark paid for offline.
Memberships and orders, same rails
A customer joins a membership plan or pays for a restaurant order through the same in-chat link.
Your money, your account
Customers pay into your own account, never Alonah's. Connect Tap (mada, KNET, Benefit, STC Pay, cards) or your own Stripe account; where Stripe offers it, onboard through Stripe Connect and get your own payout dashboard. Card processing fees are charged to your account by Stripe or Tap.
The edge cases that trip other tools
Reschedule never touches the money
Moving the time keeps the price and deposit. Only changing to a different service after paying triggers cancel-and-rebook, so the refund follows policy.
Unpaid holds don't get reminders
Nobody is nudged about an appointment they never confirmed. A hold that hasn't been paid gets a payment reminder, not an appointment reminder.
Failed charges surface on the dashboard
A deposit charge that fails shows on a dashboard alert card so finance can see it without asking reception.
What the business configures
Deposit amount and scope
None, fixed, or percentage, business-wide, per branch, or per service.
Refund tiers
Time windows and refund percentages, or a single cutoff.
Hold-release hours
Release automatically after N hours, or alert staff to decide.
Tax rate and tax-inclusive pricing
Set once, applied to invoices and receipts.
Tap, Stripe or your own account
Connect a payment account in a few minutes. The AI can't go live until one is connected, so deposits work from day one.
CSV export
Bookings and payments to CSV whenever finance asks.
Frequently asked questions
01Which payment methods?
Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe. In the Gulf, Tap adds mada, KNET, Benefit, OmanNet, QPay and STC Pay, depending on what your Tap account has enabled.
02When is a booking confirmed?
When Stripe tells us the payment succeeded, or immediately if no deposit is required.
03Can I take a deposit for a walk-in?
Yes, create the booking in the dashboard, copy the link or send it on WhatsApp, or mark it paid if they paid in person.
04How do refunds reach the customer?
Through the same Stripe account the charge went through. Timing to their card depends on their bank.
05Do I need a payment account?
Yes: Tap or Stripe, connected before the AI goes live so deposits land in your account from day one. Gulf businesses usually use Tap; businesses in the US, UK, EU, Canada and Switzerland can also onboard with Stripe Connect. Processing fees are charged to your own account.
